Hillstone Timber Frame is owned and operated by Timber Frame Carpenter, Dunstan Hodder.

Between 2010 and 2024 Dunstan honed his skills working for some of the Oak Frame industries leading companies, which lead to incredible opportunities both at home and abroad. These opportunities have taken him all over the UK and abroad, from the Middle East to North America, running projects, managing international teams of carpenters and crafting beautiful, bespoke Timber Framed Buildings.

Rooted in Tradition

We hand craft Traditional & Contemporary Timber Frames, with time honored joints and techniques, but embracing modern machinery to lighten the load.

Collaboration over Competition

A belief that we achieve more when we work together, means we are open to opportunities to work with other framers and builders. As a small business, this ethos places us well to take on projects of any size.

The Legacy of a Craft

A passion for timber frame construction comes from a desire to build a legacy, not just in the structures created, but just as importantly, in being able to keep a craft alive and pass the trade onto the next generation of Craftsmen.
